International Women’s Day is nearing, and as the theme is #EachForEqual this year we wanted to celebrate the women in travel striving to make change as well as the men helping them get there!

This year’s theme teaches that everyone has an important role to play in creating a gender-equal world. Through championing, applauding, and supporting women to have access to career development they deserve.

We are very fortunate here at Livn that our culture of equality is strong, and with 50% of our workforce being females, it allows us to support the travel industry to reflect our values.

We’re happy to have seen travel companies working hard on incorporating gender equality into their operations, more tours and activities arise that focus solely on women – be it by helping travellers discover the role of women in the history of famous tourism spots, or by empowering women through education, training and creating inclusive workplaces for more employment opportunities.

In addition, women-only tours are growing in popularity too and considering a large number of solo travellers are women, this trend is likely to continue and increase.

All of these excellent steps are supported by powerful women in the travel industry.

This year we will continue our efforts towards a more gender-equal industry by focusing on expertise, not gender. And we can’t wait for the industry as a whole to follow suit.
