Since 1987, Amadeus has moved the travel industry forward with award-winning solutions for customers around the world. Travel agencies use their platform when making an air, hotel, car or other travel service booking. 

In Australia and New Zealand they were looking into a way to provide the travel agent community the opportunity to drive additional revenue via integrated tour & activities wholesale products.

Booking tours, activities & attractions can be a time-consuming process for agents, as they need to search multiple websites to find what they are looking for. Amadeus wanted to streamline the booking process by finding a partner who could offer global coverage, real-time availability, pricing and ticketing.
The Livn API delivers a single access feed of real-time tours, activities & attractions products that can be integrated into any sales platform. Livn empowered Amadeus to add a new travel vertical of products in a fully integrated interface for their travel agents.
Manually adding tour segments into a client’s itinerary can be timely for an agent. Therefore, it was essential that all bookings could be fully integrated into the PNR (passenger name record).
Livn solution has automated the entire booking flow by directly integrating confirmed bookings into the customers PNR, which alleviated the need for any manual work.
Product rates must be equivalent to external offerings so that Amadeus travel agents have a competitive edge in the industry.
Livn API is connected to the tour operators’ reservation systems and displays the exact same product price they have on their own websites. It gives reassurance and confidence to Amadeus' travel agents that there are no rate markups.
Agents already know when and where the customer is travelling to and how long they are in a particular destination and wishes to leverage this data to provide relevant tour & activity offerings.
Livn products are geo-coded to the closest IATA tier-1 airport codes allowing Amadeus’ travel agents to serve up not only products within 100km of the airline arrival port but also what was available and departing within the travellers’ itinerary parameters. This eliminated the need for the travel agents to perform a country, city and availability search.

Business Outcomes

The Livn API was successfully integrated into the Amadeus GDS, enabling travel agents to check availability and book tours in real-time. 

The partnership has created an additional revenue stream for Amadeus agents, allowing them to easily personalise and package in-destination travel experiences for their clients. 

Through synchronising with the travel agents’ current processes, Livn has alleviated the need for unnecessary manual work and has essentially freed up countless hours each week for the agent.
